Welcome to the Nevada High Intensity Drug Traffic Area (HIDTA) website. Here you will find important information about Nevada's HIDTA program including our Nevada Law Enforcement Training Program available to all of Nevada's law enforcement, links to many other agencies, and general information about Nevada HIDTA's programs.

Since February of 2013, Nevada HIDTA has operated a deconfliction and intelligence operation center, the Nevada Watch Center.  This service is available 24/7 in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Information Network (RMIN), the Western Regional Information System (WSIN) and the Regional Information Sharing System (RISS) a nationwide intelligence system.

The 24/7 operation phone contact the entire state of Nevada: 888-294-2337, an email for questions is nevadawc@rmin.riss.net. I strongly urge all law enforcement to use this system to ensure officer safety during plain clothes, covert operations and for case enhancing intelligence. Today's modern deconfliction systems have saved many lives across our nation.

Basic Undercover Operative
Las Vegas, NV - LVMPD HQ

This is an 8-hour class covering basic undercover operative operations and assignments. Instructor: Retired LVMPD detective Joe Panullo.

Topics will include:

  • Case Law pertaining to Entrapment & Outrageous Government Conduct

  • Duties of an undercover, case agent & supervisor reference UC operations

  • Selecting an undercover identity

  • Carrying weapons during undercover operations

  • Red Flags & Hazards pertaining to undercover work

  • Surveillance and covering a UC operation

  • Potential problems you may encounter during a UC operation

  • Understanding the toll and preparing your family for you working UC

  • Utilizing Confidential Informants

  • Using flash rolls and the cautions to take when using them

  • How to run a successful undercover operation

  • How to conduct a bust out when ending a buy program

  • Applying real life stories and examples of the do’s and don’ts of UC work

ENHANCED DRUG IDENTIFICATION

Hands On Training for Patrol & Specialty Units


- Learn Packaging techniques of street level drugs and their indicators

- Practice drug ingestion methods during group exercise

- create both club-scene and prescription pills at our Pill Mill Station

- Experience currently used inhalants and their paraphernalia

- Use “Sensory stations”© to develop an understanding of BHO production

- develop ability to discriminate drug odors and cover scents while articulating them

- Gain expertise of the seven drug categories with over 30 individual drugs

- Attend our “safety station” TO PROTECT YOURSELF

- AGAINST DRUG DANGERS IN THE FIELD

- Go hands-on with over 100 pieces of glassware & improvised ingestion devices

- Identify and articulate physical and psycho-motor indicators of drug ingestion
